1991.5 - 1993 and 1994-1998
Whether your replacing your leaky factory intercooler or building a reliable high HP, high boost truck, PDR air charge coolers are built for maximum reliabiltiy and efficiency.
We use a high efficiency plate and bar core in our cooler. Having a high efficiency core results in much lower charged air temperature at the intake. This added temperature drop not only results in lower EGT's, but a more complete combustion of the fuel which improves fuel economy as well. Another benefit is less pressure drop across the cooler. Which means your turbo does not work as hard to provide the same level of boost as before.
- Increased Reliability
- Increased Thermal Efficiency
- Less Pressure Drop
- Lower Air Temperatures At The Intake
- Lower EGT's
- Increased Fuel Economy
PDR intercoolers are complete brand new coolers including the main core and the tanks. There is no core charge or parts to return.
Pressure Tested - Each PDR cooler is pressure tested. Our cores have a burst pressure of over 1700 PSI. And we rate our entire cooler for 125 PSI. Don't fall for tricky adds, claiming to pressure test to 500+ psi. The cores may be tested to this pressure, but the tanks simply won't handle that kind of pressure.
Better Reliability - There is no "conventional header" plate like in a tube/fin type design. The tank is welded directly to the core. There is no "L" or "U" shaped header on our unit that can warp, causing leaks. The traditional tube/fin designs typically have the tubes going through the header, then weld the tank to a thin "L" or "U" shaped header. The PDR cooler does not do that, we weld our tank directly to the core without a conventional header.
Better Efficiency - Since our plate/bar design does not have a conventional header so we can offer a larger tube for increased airflow. And our alternating / staggered tube design increases thermal efficiency. This all adds up to less pressure drop across the cooler and lower air temeratures at the intake.
