| PDR
Diesel carries the Autometer Ultra-Lite, Phantom and Z-Series gauges,
the Isspro Enhanced Visibility A Series gauges, Di-Pricol gauges, and the BD-Power X-Monitor line
of digital gauges. We stock pyrometers, temp gauges, boost gauges, and fuel pressure
gauges. We carry all the necessary gauge pods and accessories to complete the
installation of your gauges. We stock both A-Pillar mounting pods as well as Dash
mounts. A-Pillar mounts come in both 2 and 3 gauge pods. And for those truck with
factory speakers in the pillar, there are models for those too. PDR also carries
a dash mounting pod for those who do not prefer the A-Pillar look. |

The
Pyrometer is the most important gauge a turbocharged diesel engine can have. Pyrometer
readings allow the operator to constantly monitor the engines "safe zone"
of operation. The exhaust temperatures are monitored with a probe inserted into
the exhaust flow. The probe can be mounted pre-turbo or post-turbo. PDR strongly
recommends all probe tips be installed pre-turbo. Pre-turbo temperatures of 300°
F to 1200° F will be normal working levels. Temperatures above these levels
can only be reached for very short times ( 10 - 20 seconds ) or engine damage
can result.

Another area the pyro can help save you money is the turbo life expectancy. If
you let the pyro cool to 300 degrees before you shut your rig down you can extend
the life of your turbo dramatically. |

The
Boost Gauge is designed to tell you the current PSI of air the turbo is producing.
This is an important gauge because it lets you know how much power youre
using. This can translate into fuel economy. In general for the same operating
conditions, the lower the boost reading the better fuel mileage you are getting.

The Transmission
Temperature gauge lets you know the current temperature of the transmission fluid
as you drive. The cooler the fluid, the longer your transmission should last.
Insufficient transmission cooling can cause premature wear or complete transmission
failure. Transmission temperatures will vary depending on the location the temp
sender is mounted. Learn how transmission temperatures change under different
driving conditions, and know what the maximum transmission temperature is for
your sender mounting location.

| Your
pyrometer and boost gauges are excellent diagnostic tools. Knowing how to read
and interpret your EGT and boost readings, can save you lots of time and money
should a problem arise. Having an instant indication of a problem will allow the
driver to take immediate action, and prevent potential damage and costly repairs.
For example if your boost is low and the pyrometer gauge is running high, this
could point to a potential boost leak. Or if the boost and the pyrometer are both
low and you seem to have less than normal power then there is a fuel delivery
problem. |

Monitoring
your fuel pressure can be an important diagnostic tool and potentially save you
money. For high horsepower applications, knowing that your fuel delivery system
is up to the task can mean getting that few extra horsepower, or the difference
between winning and loosing. A common cause of failures on today's modern electronic
diesel injection pumps, is low fuel pressure. Being able to diagnose a bad fuel
pump or clogged fuel system, can save thousands of dollars in costly repairs.

| For
Dodge Ram owners with the 24 valve Cummin's engine, PDR has a complete fuel pressure
gauge kit for your application. Kits are complete with gauge, isolator, tubing,
adapters and clamps. Kits are slightly different depending on model year, be sure
to specify when ordering. |
