South Bend Clutch

South Bend designs and manufactures performance clutches that are smooth and reliable. South Bend Clutches are of the highest quality and back by the best customer service around. Complete kits are for a variety of applications. PDR stocks and installs clutches for 1996-2004 Volkswagen TDI's.

	99.5-05 TDI A4 convertion kits include a solid mass flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. ( will need 6 longer pressure plate to flywheel bolts for solid mass flywheel convertion )

OFE
The OFE kit combines the newest technology in linings: A Feramic full face lining on the flywheel side for superior holding power and a "Medium Metal" content Organic lining on the pressure plate side for an ultra smooth feel. This combination runs cooler and significantly extends clutch life. The OFE series clutch not only engages very smooth, it has the torque capacity of other Stage 4 clutch kits. This state of the art kit is what everybody wants when it comes to street performance.

FE
The FE series is the ultimate when it comes to delivering maximum torque to the street and strip driven car. With Feramic on both sides of the disc, the clutch delivers a more positive engagement. Because Feramic clutch material displaces heat extremely fast it will give you maximum clutch life and a consistent feel each time you shift.

Single Mass Flywheel
SBC clutch kits have the benefit a single mass flywheel which replaces the poorly designed stock dual mass flywheel. Clutch kit customers can expect to have moderate peddle effort due to a stronger plate load of the pressure plate.

Recommendations

OFE with std weight flywheel is a great upgrade for the daily driver that
wants the benefit of smooth power transfer and good holding power.
OFE with light weight flywheel is a great upgrade for the weekend warrior
that wants the benefit of the quickest power transfer and best holding
power. ( light weight flywheels are not the smoothest for power transfer )
FE upgrade is not recommended for a daily driver due to no slippage in
clutch material.
