PDR's FMIC utilizes the factory intercooler, along with a front mount intercooler for even more cooling. More cooling equals lower dense air charge, which produces more power due to the engines ECU adding more timing and fuel to match the colder turbo air charge and allows the engine to run more efficently. The cooler air charge from the turbo will drop EGT's as much as 75 deg's at cruizing and 200 deg's under full throttle. IAT temps drop on average 35 deg's at cruise in our testing. You will feel the difference in how hard the engine pulls right away.
Intercooler is a polished aluminum core at 21"x5.5"x2.5" which unlike all the other FMIC kits out there, PDR's is mounted in 100% of the airflow, gaining over 250% surface area because it is not tucked in behind the bumper, so the steel bumper /rebar doesn't get cut up and remains intact for strength and safety. Insurance companies will not cover a claim if structual components of a vechicle is cut or modified.
304 Stainless piping is done in only 3 pieces to keep transitions as to a min and clamps are 304 high grade stainless, all joints are mandel bent and TIG welded, along with high heat silicone couplers. Piping is routed as short and as low as possible to ensure the lowest pressure drop and heat soak on the market. Factory belly pan, front vents, stock intercooler and piping from stock intercooler to engine are still utilized for stock looking appearance.
